The working group on rural revitalization of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) held general assembly in China’s capital city Beijing and online on March 2, to review work report of 2022, approve major priorities and schedule work plan of 2023.

CAST made continuous efforts recent years to take targeted measures to lift its matching pair counties Linxian County and Lanxian County in north China’s Shanxi Province from poverty, all of which is part of the nation’s commitment to connecting state organs with poverty-stricken counties peer to peer to consolidate gains in poverty elimination and embark on a new journey toward the second centenary goal of building China a modern socialist country in all respects.

In his address to the assembly, Shu Wei declared that CAST will build partnerships with the Shanxi Association for Science and Technology (SAST) and the Lyuliang Association for Science and Technology (LAST) to strengthen and expand the reach of its brand programs “Innovation China” and “China Science Communication”, in order to provide sci-tech services to meet local needs.

Shu is deputy secretary of the leading Party members group, full-time vice president and executive secretary of the Secretariat of CAST.
