Biological subgroup of 2023 Yingcaijihua Program (also known as Science Talent Program) held online winter camp and serial exchange activities from January 30 to February 1, 2023, attracting 100 plus biological instructors and assistants, and 300 plus high school students and volunteers to take part.
Jointly sponsored and implemented by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the Ministry of Education (MOE), Yingcaijihua Program aims to screen out high school students who have keen interest in basic science including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science to participate. The selected students are expected to have excellent learning competence to participate in scientific research and academic discussion on university campus under the guidance of preeminent scientists.
At the camp, experts from Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Tsinghua University and other universities delivered fascinating theme speeches, stimulating the participants to explore the mysteries of biological science from different aspects.
The campers got chances to exchange views with senior scientists and conduct virtual simulation experiments, which will inspire them to make further scientific explorations.
