The 2nd Innovation China • Sichuan Sci-tech Service Conference opens in Chengdu on February 15, 2023.

The 2-day conference was featured with 1 inclusive demands-service matching and signing ceremony, 3 innovation salons, 4 promotion meetings with 22 promotion stations and respective online exhibition halls at provincial and municipal level providing nimble and integrated services as side events.

At the opening ceremony, top 10 sci-tech breakthrough projects, top 10 major high-tech promotion projects and top 10 major sci-tech achievements transformation projects were released.

5,740 projects were announced as the result of the solicitation and review program presided over by the Sichuan Association for Science and Technology (SAST) which screened out 843 sci-tech problems to be solved, 2,808 high-tech projects to be promoted and 2,089 sci-tech achievements to be transformed on a shortlist, covering a wide range of disciplines of electronic information, equipment manufacturing, food and light textile, energy and chemical industry, advanced materials, medicine and health and modern agriculture.

In his video address to the conference, Zhang Guihua acclaimed the event an excellent case for regional participation in “Innovation China” program of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). Zhang is a member of the leading Party members group and executive secretary of the Secretariat of CAST.

Zhang expected that SAST would put talent recommendation at an important strategic position to meet future needs and contribute more to building the province an innovative highland.

Zhang hoped that Sichuan sci-tech cloud would integrate more service scenarios and optimize functions to broaden partnerships with legal, fiscal and financial venture capital institutions to get more sci-tech professionals join in.

Worthy of a special mention is that, with the help of 3D modeling, virtual reality and other technologies, this year’s online exhibition halls were integrated onto Sichuan sci-tech service cloud for further concerns and visits.
