On September 24, the launching ceremony of the 2022 National Science Popularization Day Shaanxi Main Venue was held in Xi'an. Wang Lin, member of the Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and vice governor, attended the launching ceremony. With the theme of "Celebrating the 20th CPC National Congress, a new era of popular science", the activity was jointly hosted by 29 departments and organizations including Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology (SAST), the Publicity Department and Cyberspace Administration of CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, and Xi'an Association for Science and Technology.

At the ceremony, SAST presented plagues of Shaanxi Science Education Base to Xi’an Xiying Film Museum, China Space Hydrodynamics Exhibition Center and other four science centers. Popular science volunteers shared their perspectives. The exhibitions at the main venue consisted of three sections including science hands-on activities, dispaly of science popularization activities and theme science shows, engaging audience with model airplane performances, science shows, a display of Shaanxi science and technology achievements and immersive experience of science caravan.

Since mid-September, Shaanxi Province has launched a series of National Science Popularization Day activities, focusing on key social issues of rural revitalization, ecological civilization construction, carbon emission peaking and neutrality, safety in production, and other issues of wide concern, to attract the public with the charm of cutting-edge technology.

Persons in charge from general office of Shaanxi Provincial Government, SAST and Xi'an Municipal Government, as well as representatives from academic societies, research institutions, science and technology enterprises, mass innovation space, universities and communities participated in the event.
